CMA CGM given deadline to make final payment
Hanjin has given CMA CGM until next Tuesday to pay for the 6,500-teu boxship that is ready for delivery, or lose to a third party.
Despite the South Korean shipbuilder statement last week that the contract had been cancelled, CMA CGM has been given a final deadline of February 22 by which to pay the outstanding amount due for the third in a series of four 6,500 teu boxships ordered.
The CMA CGM Kessel (83,400dwt-6,500teu-built 2009), which was the second in the series of four, has already been sold for US$ 45m to interests associated with Greek owner George Economou and is now on charter to Mediterranean Shipping Co. |
