Grindrod reviving canceliations
South African shipowner Grindrod, is planning to reinstate newbuilding order contracts for three Handy (under 20,000-dwt) tankers that it reportedly cancelled earlier this year.
The three cancelled contracts are believed to be part of the seven 16,483-dwt products tankers order that it has at Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering of China.
There was no reason given for the original cancellation however the shipowner has cancelled other orders in the past year after non-performance or late delivery from the shipyards concerned.
No mention has been made with regard to the price of the contracts or if the values have increased or decreased. |
